Tucked in the heart of Steveston Village, Steveston Fish has been serving fresh, high-quality seafood for over 11 years. Owner Edwin Park and his father took over the business from a longtime local couple, continuing a tradition of providing seafood sourced directly from commercial fishing boats and trusted distributors.
Popular selections include wild sockeye salmon, black cod, albacore tuna, halibut, and scallops. For first-time visitors, Edwin recommends trying the black cod, one of his personal favourites. Its rich flavour and simple preparation make it an easy choice, just season with salt and pepper and cook in an air fryer for about 20 minutes.
While Steveston has changed over the years, with many small businesses facing challenges from inflation and the post-pandemic economy, Steveston Fish continues to thrive, thanks to its loyal customers and the welcoming community that makes the village so special.
The best time to visit is during July and August when the selection of fresh fish is at its peak, especially the fresh halibut and wild sockeye salmon.
If you're exploring Steveston for the first time, stop by Steveston Fish, browse the fresh seafood, take a stroll along the Fisherman's Wharf, watch the fishing boats, and enjoy one of Richmond's most charming waterfront communities.
